The Franklin Special District (FSD) is proud to announce the educators selected as 2025-2026 Model Classroom Teachers. The Teaching and Learning Department has chosen these exceptional teachers for their demonstrated expertise, leadership, and commitment to continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
Model Classroom Teachers (MCTs) exemplify instructional excellence. A selection criterion included their willingness to foster growth among their colleagues by sharing best practices and modeling effective strategies in real-time classroom settings. Their leadership will support ongoing professional learning across the district and provide valuable opportunities for collaboration.
“We are excited to elevate the role of FSD teacher leaders through the Model Classroom Teacher program,” said Mary Decker, Ed.D., Associate Director of Schools for Teaching and Learning. “These teachers represent the best of FSD, and their willingness to collaborate, innovate, and support others helps to support growth in our schools and classrooms.”
Please join us in congratulating the following teachers for being selected as 2024–2025 FSD Model Classroom Teachers:
- Kristen Bischoff, Moore Elementary School, 1st Grade
- Samantha Carney, Liberty Elementary School, 4th Grade
- Molly Foster, Franklin Elementary School, 3rd Grade
- Charlene Maeder, Moore Elementary School, 4th Grade
- Brittany Martin-Brand, Freedom Intermediate School, 6th Grade
- Jennifer Ryan, Franklin Elementary School, 4th Grade
Throughout the 2025–2026 school year, these teachers will serve as leaders and instructional models for innovative teaching on their campuses. In addition to a summer training, they will participate in a cohort of fellow Model Classroom Teachers. A condition of selection is that the MCTs host classroom visits to showcase instructional strategies and share their expertise through professional learning, demonstration lessons, and recorded videos.
