Franklin Special School District's Dr. David Snowden was announced as the 2024 Superintendent of the Year by the Tennessee Organization of School Superintendents on September 10, 2023, at its annual convention in Gatlinburg
FSSD has been awarded a Healthy Meals Incentives grant in the amount of $130,000 from Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK) to support efforts to fulfill a goal of feeding students with healthy meals cooked from scratch in the district's multi-year effort to improve the nutritional quality of school meals.
The Tennessee Department of Education has selected Franklin Elementary School fourth-grade teacher Sondra Wilson-Martin as the Middle Tennessee Grand Division winner in the Teacher of the Year contest, sponsored by the Tennessee Department of Education.
